Zhongshan Hospital in Shanghai
The process

A clear path from first message to follow-up.

No black boxes. Here is exactly what happens, who does what, and what it costs — before you commit to anything.

Five stages

One coordinator. Five clear stages.

The timeline below is typical. Complex cases, popular specialists, and visa processing can add time. We confirm a realistic schedule after reviewing your records.

01
T+0–3 days

Share your case

Send your diagnosis, recent imaging, pathology, lab results, medication list, and passport copy. We organize the records, translate the key documents, and write a clinical summary in the format Chinese hospitals expect.

02
T+4–10 days

Clinical review & hospital matching

We identify two or three suitable departments, submit your records, and obtain feedback on whether an in-person visit is appropriate. If the answer is no, we tell you — and suggest an alternative.

03
T+7–14 days

Plan, costs & appointments

You receive a written pathway: hospital, specialist, estimated hospital fees, our coordination fee, travel window, and next steps. You decide whether to proceed. Nothing is booked until you approve the plan.

04
T+15 days onward

Arrival & treatment

We coordinate the hospital invitation letter where available, airport pickup, hotel, admission, interpretation, and communication with your family. A coordinator is available throughout your stay.

05
T+30–60 days

Recovery & follow-up

You receive an English discharge summary, medication plan, and rehabilitation guidance. We schedule a remote follow-up and hand you back to your local doctor with a clear record.

Before you start

What to prepare.

You do not need a perfect file. Start with what you have — we will tell you what is missing and help you obtain it.

Records in another language? We translate English-language medical documents into Chinese for hospital review. If your records are in Arabic, Russian, Spanish, or another language, tell us first so we can confirm translation support.

Fees, clearly

Two budgets, kept separate.

Medical fees go to the hospital. Coordination fees come to SinoMedBridge. You will see both in writing before you commit — and you will always know what is included.

SinoMedBridge coordination fee

Quoted after case review. Based on complexity, city, length of stay, and the services you need. You approve it in writing before we proceed.

  • Case review and record preparation
  • Hospital and specialist matching
  • Appointment coordination and itinerary
  • Airport pickup and interpretation
  • Follow-up and handover

Hospital & travel costs

Paid directly to the hospital or provider. We do not mark up medical fees. You receive an estimate before travel and a final invoice from the hospital.

  • Consultation, examination, and imaging
  • Surgery, anesthesia, and hospital stay
  • Medication and rehabilitation
  • Flights, hotel, and visa fees
  • Personal and additional family expenses

Membership and corporate health programs are available separately. Ask for details if you need ongoing support or a program for your team.

Our role

What we do. What we don't.

We are a coordination company, not a healthcare provider. Being clear about the boundary is part of building trust.

We do

  • Listen to your situation and goals
  • Organize and translate your medical records
  • Identify hospitals and specialists whose experience fits
  • Coordinate appointments, travel, and interpretation
  • Stay with you through admission, treatment, and follow-up

We don't

  • Diagnose, prescribe, or perform surgery
  • Guarantee a medical outcome or a specific doctor
  • Guarantee visa approval
  • Act as an insurer or pay hospital bills on your behalf
  • Sell your data or share records without consent
Practical questions

Before you commit.

Do I need to travel before I know the plan?
No. We review records and obtain a clinical opinion before you commit to travel. In some cases, a remote consultation is enough to decide whether an in-person visit is worthwhile.
Can I bring a family member?
Yes. We can arrange accommodation and a second interpreter; additional costs may apply. Tell us early so we can include it in the plan.
What if I need urgent care?
Contact your local emergency services first. SinoMedBridge is not an emergency provider. Once you are stable, we can help with transfer and coordination.
Can I use my insurance?
Some international hospitals accept direct billing; most public hospitals require self-pay first, then reimbursement. We provide itemized invoices and support your claim. Confirm your policy's coverage before travel.
How long should I stay in China?
It depends on the procedure. A cataract pathway may be around 10 days; a joint replacement may be 3–4 weeks; complex surgery may be longer. We confirm a realistic window after clinical review.
Ready when you are

Start with a conversation, not a commitment.

Tell us what you are facing. We will explain what we can do, what we cannot do, and what information we need next.

No obligation. We will tell you honestly if China is not the right fit.
